William Steven Downa

William Steven Downa "Steve", age 65, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Houston Downa and his brother Michael Warren Downa.

He is survived by his mother Mrs. Alla Deane Downa, life partner Carol Regonini, and man's best friend "Charlie" all of Kingsport.

Steve was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport; 1967 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, Kingsport, and graduate of Tennessee Tech.

Steve spent most of his adult life in Nashville where he had a successful career as an Insurance Broker and in Commercial Property Management. Steve was a 32nd degree Mason; past Director of the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 92, and a member of AlMenah Shrine. Steve was devoted to his country and served honorably in the US Army. One of his hobbies was aviation earning his private pilot license. He was well known for making lifelong friends wherever he went always lending a helping hand. Steve loved to laugh and will be remembered for his unique wit, kind heart and loyalty to his friends and family.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 24, 2014 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport from 12-2 p.m. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Steve to the "Shriners Hospital".
