William J. JD Hicks

William J JD Hicks, 82, of Limestone, entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 27th at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. JD served as an administrator of Pleasant Grove Cemetery. He retired from Cedar Grove Foundry in Kingsport and he was a life long farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Hicks and Frona Showman; sisters, Frances Chase and Zella Nunley; and brothers, John Hicks, Paul Hicks, Herbert Hicks and Bobby Hicks.

JD is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Hicks of Limestone; daughters, Mitzi Emmert and husband, Randall, and Genease Davis and husband, Dennis, all of Limestone; granddaughters, Haley Greenway and husband, Chad of Limestone, and Paula Reynolds and husband, Trent of Texas; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Grayson Reynolds; sisters, Carolyn Babb and Susie Phelps of Kingsport; and brother, Byrl Hicks of California.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 29th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 30th at 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch with Rev. Greg Davis and Rev. Randall Emmert officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Limestone.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Barnes, Charlie Barnes, Dale Malone, Albert Smith and Herman Babb.
