William Paul Jones, 82, of Fall Branch, died Sunday, September 18 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Jones was retired from Quebecor where he was employed for 43.5 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch where he served as past chairman of the deacons. Mr. Jones was also very active in other areas of his church.
He was born in Scott County, VA to the late William and Mary Jones. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Mack Jones, and a sister, Opal Thompson.
Mr. Jones is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Norma Kilday Jones of Fall Branch. Other survivors include his two wonderful daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon Hall and Stanley H. Hall of Fall Branch and Deborah Craft and Ryland G. Craft III of Kennesaw, GA; four special grandsons, Christopher Todd Hall and wife Lisa, of Fall Branch, Jonathan Chad Hall and wife Becky, of Gray, Justin Tyler Craft and Jordan Taylor Craft of Kennesaw, GA; six great-grandchildren who were the loves of his life: Calli Rose Hall and Skyler Christine Hall of Fall Branch; Madelyn Renee Hall, Benjamin Todd Hall, and Kathryn Paige Hall of Gray; Kinsley Lauren Craft of Kennesaw, GA; Special nieces and nephew: Barbara Moody of Fall Branch, Jean Wagner of Mount Carmel,
and Johnny Charles Mitchell of Fall Branch; very special sister-in-law: Lucille Mitchell of Fall Branch.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20th at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch and at anytime at the home of Stanley and Sharon Hall, 17200 Kingsport Highway, Fall Branch. Services will be conducted after visitation at 8:00 p.m., Rev. Victor Wallace, Rev. Carl Strickler and Rev. Ron Owens officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21st at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Charles Mitchell, George Moody, Jackie Collins, Roland Davis, Marc Dunn, Lonnie Fox, Don Haren, Danny Justice and Don Wagner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Davenport, Charles McNeese, Bob Patterson, Frank Fink, members of the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch men's Sunday School classes I & II, and Deacons of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch.
