William "Clyde" Ramey, 79 of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Clyde retired from Mason Dixon Truck Lines and was a great handyman. He was a member of Homeland Baptist Church. Clyde served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Ramey and Mable Grace Ramey.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Ramey of the home; son, Steven Ramey of Lexington, NC; brother, James Conley Ramey and wife, Barbara of Kingsport; sister, Elva Mae Huffman and husband, Robert of Blountville; brother-in-law, Wayne Bethany and wife, Dorothy of Blountville; sister-in-law, Myrna Bethany of Debary, FL; aunts, Kathleen Ramey of Kingsport and Virgie Fogleman of Abingdon, VA; nephew, Terry Huffman of Blountville; special cousin, Linda Gibson; and several other cousins.
A special thanks to his caregivers, Melissa and Victoria Hale.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Homeland Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. J.W. Depew officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at East Tennessee Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Boone Dam VFW Post 4933.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bethany, Jim Henson, Larry Davidson, Jack Ford, Tom Pratt and Woody Talbert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Huffman and the Men of Homeland Baptist Church.
