Willie Katherine Sizemore Lane, 91, of Kingsport, passed away August 6, 2009 at her residence. The daughter of Henry Thomas Jayne, Sr. and Mattie Lula Wilhelm Jayne was born April 17, 1918 in Clinchport, VA. She spent her youth in Knoxville and graduated from Karns High School. She worked for Inter-Mountain Telephone and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Litz Manor Baptist Church and a life long resident of Kingsport.
Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her parents Henry Thomas and Lula Wilhelm Jayne, sister Thelma Lucille Jayne Morse, and brother Henry Thomas Jayne, Jr. Willie was also preceded her first husband Bart E. Sizemore, who died in 1968 and Bill D. Lane, who died in 2000.
She leaves daughter, Lou Ann Sizemore Davis of Kingsport; granddaughter Carol Davis Peake and husband Carl of Gray; grandson Bart Davis and wife Wendy, great-granddaughters Delaney Grace and Hadley Reece Davis of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law Fleeta Jayne of Kingsport and Thelma Mabry Lane of Ringgold, GA; nieces and nephews: Kathy Morse Parham, Gary and Ro Morse, Larry Jayne, Stanley Jayne, Daniel Jayne and wife Rhonda; great-nephew and niece Abbey and Jacob Jayne and the Sizemore family nieces and nephews; and cousin Maxwell Epps and wife Bernice.
A graveside service will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Nola and Charles Childers, Mick and Lina Bradley, friends of Lincoln Elementary School, Wellmont Hospice, Dr. J. Paul Singh and staff. Many thanks also to all her faithful church family for their love, support, and prayers.
The family will receive friends at the home or at the graveside service.
