Wilma Alice Baskett, 89, of the Oak Hill Community in Washington Co., passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Wellington Place, Colonial Heights.
Wilma was a beloved sister and aunt who had a kind heart and a gentle spirit. She displayed the love for her Lord through her kindness and silent service to others. Wilma was the second of six children born to Ruble and Eva Baskett. She retired from Tennessee Eastman after 43 years of service. Wilma was a faithful member and supporter of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Jonesborough.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ruble Baskett, Jr. and Paul Baskett.
Survivors include two sisters, Lorna Evans of the Bethesda Community in Greene Co., Geneva Murray of the Bowmantown Community in Washington Co., and one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lisa Baskett of the Oak Hill Community, Washington Co. along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2nd from 5-7 pm at Oak Hill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7 pm with Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at 3 pm at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
