Wilma Ruth Eidson

Wilma Ruth Eidson, 85, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Wilma was a member of Depews Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and sister who loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Wilma loved working outside. She was a jack of all trades who especially loved to work with her hands.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Eidson; parents, C.H. and Lillie Barr; and 2 sisters, Jolene Barr and Mickey Foulk.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Beckie Carter and husband, Todd; son, "Pooch" Eidson and wife, Connie; 3 grandchildren, Josh Eidson, Jessica Meridieth and husband, David, and Courtney Murray and husband, Andrew; 4 great-grandchildren, Brycen, Brynn and Brylee Meridieth, and Hattie Ruth Murray; 2 sisters, Wanda Strickler, and Marlene Eidson and husband, Gary; special friend, Pauline Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Depew's Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Strong and Pastor Nathan Ware officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy Eidson, Jackie Strickler, David Strickler, Tony Hubbard, Greg Wilson and Andrew Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Murray, Gary Eidson, Jordan Hubbard and Zachary Hubbard.
