Worley R. Lane, 87, of Kingsport, died Saturday morning, November 12, 2011 at Indian Path Medical Center.
Born April 30, 1924 in Daniel Boone, Virginia, he had lived in Kingsport most of his life. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II. Worley was an artist and sign painter most of his life.
Worley attended Orebank Methodist Church. He was a life time member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Edward Lane and Cora Babb Lane; his wife, Reba Quillen Lane; his son, Val Lane; and two brothers, John Calvin Lane and Ernest Edward Lane, Jr.
Surviving are his daughter, Vera Lane Neeley of Kingsport; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and three sisters, Mildred Sampson of Kingsport, Thelma Kendrick and husband, Robert of Kingsport, and Wanda Webb and husband, Roy of Jonesborough.
Military graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the American Legion Posts #3/265 officiating.
