Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson, 68, of Kingsport, TN, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Detroit, MI, where she resided into her early adulthood. She moved to various places in Michigan prior to moving to East Tennessee with her late husband, Dave Nelson; and her son, Kyle Guthrie. Soon after arriving in Kingsport, Yvonne began driving buses for the Kingsport City School System. She always had a passion for helping the community, particularly through Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club; where she served as the event coordinator. The motorcycle club was her second family here in Tennessee. She was a very active person who took on various jobs in order to stay busy. Yvonne had a knack to persevere through anything she was going through, and she always had a smile on her face. Her positive attitude and overall outlook on life was contagious to those around her. Yvonne was extremely generous and would give the shirt off of her back to help someone else.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Nelson; and son, Joe Schultz.

Yvonne is survived by her sons, Josh Schultz and wife Rachelle and Kyle Guthrie and girlfriend Tiffany Weber; grandchildren, Gavin and Noah Schultz; the entire Nelson family; special niece, Angela Purchase; numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friends, Cheri Hayes and Rick Oaks.
