Zack Wright, 71, Gray, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at his home following an extended illness.
Zack was born in Kingsport, was a 1953 graduate of Sullivan High School, and attended East Tennessee State University. He was a Building Official with the City of Kingsport retiring in September 1997 after 31 years of service. Zack was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church having accepted the Lord in December of 2003.
His parents, Troy and Mae Wright; and wife, Lee M. Wright, preceded him in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Mitzi Malone and husband, Keith, Gray, TN; two beloved grandchildren, Coty and Taylor; one sister, Jean Ingram, Kingsport; one brother, Tilmer Wright and wife, Onie, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Mountain View Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Hollaway and Pastor James Cambron officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens in Blountville.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Pelphrey, Roger Frazier, Jack Pitts, Claude Luttrell, Dewayne Hayes, Eddie Owens, Colin Mullins, and Bob Smith.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be given to Mountain View Baptist Church, 4005 Bristol Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601.
