Zack Monroe Murray

Zack Monroe Murray, 61, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 23, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, TN.

He was born in Kingsport where he had lived his entire life. Zack retired from C & S Transit. One of Zack?s greatest pleasures was driving all the local schools to ball games and special events and especially his dear friend Coach Dickie Warren. He was a member of Indian Springs Optimist Club, and attended Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death are a daughter, Jami Lee Murray his parents, Lee and Lacuna Murray; two brothers, L. C. and Harvey Murray; and a sister, Julia Weber.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Murray, Kingsport; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Joe Anderson, Kingsport; a son, Stephen Murray, Kingsport; four grandchildren, Jordan Murray, Hannah Murray, Lindsey Anderson, Bryson Anderson; three sisters, Venus Murray, Kingsport, Carol Harless and husband, Steve, Kingsport; Deloris Broyles and husband, Buddy, Kingsport; one brother, Vance Murray, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Lawrence E. Wolfe officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
