Zena Crawford Tholstrup

Zena C. Tholstrup, 96, of Kingsport passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019. Born in St. Stephen, S.C., she graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. with a Bachelors of Science degree. She was an executive secretary at Holston Defense, homemaker, and a teacher’s aide at Washington Elementary. Zena was a volunteer at Holston Valley Medical Center for over 40 years. She was also a long time member of  First Broad Street United Methodist Church and charter member of the Greer Memorial Sunday School class. She was very active with Meals on Wheels as well.

Zena was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Earl Tholstrup, Sr.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann (Tholstrup) Taylor and husband, Sheldon (Atlanta, GA); two sons, Clarence E. Tholstrup, Jr. and wife, Melody (Madison, AL); William M. Tholstrup and wife, Julie (Sacramento, CA); seven grandchildren, Sheldon Taylor and wife, Sara; Elizabeth Taylor; Meaghan and Carson Tholstrup; Natalie, Amanda and William Tholstrup; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, Asbury@Home caregivers and the Baysmont staff for their loving care and attention.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on August 3, 2019 at Asbury Place Baysmont, Kingsport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church (100 E Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660).
